The genesis of Switzerland's unique identity can be traced back over 700 years to 1291. Three men met in a peaceful meadow and forged an alliance pledging mutual support during adversities. This seminal moment gave rise to what is known as the Swiss Confederation. Twenty-four years later, in 1315, the Swiss Alliance faced its first significant military challenge—the Battle of Morgarten, where they valiantly defended their territory against a well-prepared Austrian army.
