In 2022, I participated in 20 fitness events, including several ultramarathons. This rigorous training regimen, while physically demanding, also led me to consume excessive calories. The cycle of needing to fuel my long training sessions and then dealing with insatiable hunger post-exercise put me consistently in a calorie surplus.
The critical turning point came when I observed that I had gained around 6 to 7 kg more than my ideal weight. Affecting both how I looked in the mirror and how I felt physically, I recognized that this increase was not just unhealthy but could lead to more severe health issues, including the accumulation of visceral fat around my organs.
