Arriving in Valencia at night didn’t deter my curiosity. As I took a taxi ride to my hotel, I immediately noticed something peculiar—there were no potholes on the roads. As any American could attest, it is almost an expectation to dodge potholes in major U.S. cities. The next day, my exploration of Valencia further reinforced my initial observations. The city boasted excellent infrastructure, including dedicated bike lanes and a comprehensive bike-sharing system that was both user-friendly and interconnected, a stark contrast to what I was accustomed to in American cities.
