Following the onset of the Ukraine conflict, numerous Western corporations, including major car manufacturers such as Renault, Nissan, and Honda, exited the Russian market. With these exits, the landscape of the auto industry in Russia changed significantly, creating a noticeable gap where popular brands once thrived. Factories were repurposed, with some, like the Renault plant, being rebranded to produce cars under the name Muskich, a nod to an old Soviet brand, using mostly Chinese designs and technology.
