For the first year, humanitarian aid has provided essential assistance, but the longer-term vision focuses on job creation and local food production. The Chadian government recognizes that refugees possess valuable skills and desires for a better life. With that in mind, Chad has set ambitious goals to restore 4 million hectares of degraded land by 2030. As a gesture of goodwill, they have committed to granting 100,000 hectares of land to these refugees, enabling them to cultivate the desert effectively.
