Just a couple of years ago, Andre Logger, a local entrepreneur and co-founder of the Free Madera movement, believed he was the only person on the island excited about Bitcoin. Flash forward to today, Madera boasts over 140 Bitcoin-friendly merchants, a thriving local community, and initiatives aimed at making Bitcoin the mainstream currency for everyday transactions. Logger’s journey began with books, specifically his Monero project, which focused on translating crucial Bitcoin literature into Portuguese.
