Part 5/10:
Historically, Hispanic voters have leaned Democratic, with Obama achieving success in this demographic. However, the narrative has changed dramatically. Recent data shows that the Hispanic vote has become increasingly conservative, primarily triggered by concerns around illegal immigration.
Around 30% of Hispanic voters express resentment toward other immigrants, perceiving that illegal immigration negatively impacts their community's reputation. This sentiment has contributed to a diminished affinity for the Democrats, as Hispanic voters, in 2024, showed increased support for Trump, especially regarding his strong stance on border security and immigration policy. In stark contrast to previous elections, Kamala Harris received only about half of the Hispanic vote nationwide.
