Can the two Congos reunite or work more closely together? While both nations share a rich history, their national identities have evolved distinctly since their colonial past. The DRC's substantial land and population size creates an imbalance that complicates any prospect of unity. Additionally, both nations' current leadership is unlikely to relinquish power or embrace change, each entrenched in its own political dynamics.
As both nations navigate modern challenges shaped by historical exploitation, they must also confront external influences on their resources. Continued reliance on foreign interests perpetuates cycles of poverty and instability. Until systemic corruption and resource misallocation are addressed, neither country can hope for genuine change.
