The Baltic states are geographically the closest to Russia and arguably the easiest targets for a military invasion. Their proximity, combined with smaller populations and comparatively weaker militaries, makes them prime candidates in any regional confrontation. Estonia, for instance, has just a few thousand troops, supported by reserves and light weaponry such as CV90 armored vehicles and shoulder-fired air defenses. Latvia and Lithuania, while larger, face similar disadvantages—limited troop numbers, a lack of substantial armored forces, and densely populated areas concentrated near the Russian border.
