The Timing and Surprise Factor
Despite NATO’s capabilities, full surprise remains unlikely. Intelligence sharing, surveillance, and early warning systems would grant NATO at least a day’s notice, diminishing the element of surprise that Russia would need for rapid breakthroughs. Moreover, Russian tactics would likely involve a phased invasion, with initial small-scale advances designed to overwhelming defenses before reinforcement arrives.
