Part 3/9:
Improving Infrastructure and Power
The country’s infrastructure is also beginning to show signs of rehabilitation. The largest electricity station in Hamza is experiencing increased gas input, reducing outages from roughly 20 hours a day to about 12 hours in major cities. Nonetheless, major obstacles persist—damaged facilities and a neglected power distribution network mean that consistent electricity remains a challenge for many Syrians.
Despite these infrastructural improvements, economic hardships remain widespread. Salaries of workers have doubled in recent times, yet millions of young Syrians struggle to afford basic needs like food. The economic strain highlights the ongoing gap between infrastructural progress and everyday living conditions.
