Contrary to Moscow’s expectations, Russia has failed to deliver comprehensive demilitarization of Ukraine. In early 2022, Ukraine’s armed forces relied heavily on Soviet-era weaponry, with limited Western support. Fast forward to late 2025, and the picture has dramatically changed. Ukraine now boasts a vastly enhanced arsenal, including Western-made tanks, long-range missiles, advanced air defense systems like Patriot systems, and a significant domestic arms industry producing artillery, electronic warfare systems, and drones—particularly, some of the world's leading drone producers.
