Part 2/10:
The journey begins on the Peruvian side with the visit to Amaru Muru, an ancient construction carved from red sandstone. The site’s name translates to the "Portal of the Snake," and it's sometimes associated with the legendary continent of Mu — a lost civilization thought by some to have connections to the survivors who migrated to Lake Titicaca. This site features a central false door flanked by high channels on the left and right, carved into the stone.
