Meanwhile in the United States, a group of teenagers embarks on a seemingly innocent adventure to a lakeside retreat. Among them is Annie, who is introduced to Charlie—a young man grappling with his past as he fixates on a picture of his deceased girlfriend. As they travel, Brendan, one of the teens, stumbles upon a truck ominously dripping blood. Initially suspecting foul play, he soon discovers that the gruesome sight is merely a dead deer, but this incident marks their entry into a darker reality.
