Part 2/8:
Despite his good intentions, Sam’s efforts are thwarted as night falls and the pig succumbs to its injuries. In a solemn moment, he prepares to bury the animal when he is startled to find it alive. This unexpected turn creates a connection between Sam and the pig, which is quickly complicated by the arrival of Kirke, the pig’s owner.
Captivity and Confinement
With Kirke fluent in English, Sam learns that his earlier accident has resulted in an unexpected bond. He offers to drive them home, but the journey reveals the deeper fears of the pig as it quivers in Kirke's arms, indicating its reluctance to return to captivity. When they arrive at Kirke's ranch, Sam's initial relief transforms into horror as he becomes ensnared in a trap orchestrated by Kirke’s family.
