As the hunting season arrives, the village eagerly anticipates a successful hunt. During a chaotic encounter with a mammoth, Delay accidentally receives undue praise for a kill he did not achieve, resulting in his elevation to the status of chief. This unwarranted recognition weighs heavily on Delay's conscience, ultimately leading him to return the white spear to the Old Mother before disaster strikes. The village is brutally attacked, revealing the invaders as horse-riding demons, causing a wave of destruction and capturing many tribe members, including Evalette.
