Strange occurrences soon plague the Hobson household. Mysterious, holographic butterflies appear, much to the shock of Jessie and Mark. On different occasions, Sean’s ghostly figure appears in moments of both wonder and terror, complicating the couple's ability to grieve properly and to bond with Cody. They begin to suspect that Cody's dreams might somehow be giving life to the manifestations of their past—perhaps restoring or distorting memories of Sean.
