Part 3/9:
Central to the film is Ruby, a young girl whose birthday celebration is cut short by the tragic loss of her peers. In a harrowing twist, contact with her mother triggers a memory-altering vision, resulting in her mother no longer recognizing her. This catastrophic event signals Ruby’s journey into captivity as she is taken to a camp where children are tested for their newfound powers.
In this camp, children are classified by color according to their abilities: Greens exhibit heightened intelligence, Blues possess telekinesis, and Golds can control electricity. However, the Reds and Oranges – those with more dangerous powers like controlling fire and manipulating minds – face immediate execution. Ruby learns she is classified as Orange and must employ her abilities to survive.
