Part 2/7:
The tale begins with the announcement of the death of Littleton's beloved mayor, Trina Grant, who had transformed the small town into a tourist haven. However, after her death, the town falls into decline under the new leadership of Mayor John Conley, who gained his position not through election but through succession laws. Conley's unpopular decision to extend the freeway poses an existential threat to Littleton, effectively severing its connection to tourists and driving the community to the brink of financial collapse.
