Part 3/7:
A year later, the once-thriving Littleton is now struggling to survive. The town's populace has suffered from poverty and despair; even Trina's husband, Jason Grant, has been reduced to living in the church attic. Here, he finds solace working on odd jobs and avoiding the painful memories of his late wife.
Jason's Magical Model
As part of his reprieve, Jason begins cleaning the attic and discovers a meticulously detailed model of Littleton. This model becomes a pivotal element in the story, as it has the uncanny ability to affect reality. Each action Jason takes on the model serves as a catalyst for real-life changes in the town. For example, when he paints the model diner, its real counterpart transforms overnight, much to the town's collective surprise.
