Part 2/9:
The film kicks off with the historic arrival of a giant extraterrestrial spaceship in 1982. Hovering over Johannesburg for three months without any signs of activity, the spaceship ultimately becomes a source of curiosity and anxiety for humanity. A determined group of humans breaks into the craft only to discover a malnourished group of aliens, soon dubbed "Prawns." The South African government relocates these extraterrestrial beings to a squalid camp, which transforms over the years into a crowded and dangerous slum known as District 9.
