The stakes rise as Gus, having changed for the worse post-resurrection, becomes increasingly violent. His actions lead to a heartbreaking series of events where a beloved family dog named Zoe is shot and subsequently dies, prompting Drew and Jeff to seek alternative methods of bringing Zoe back to life, which leads them to an Indian burial ground.
