Part 2/7:
One of the filmmakers began by reflecting on their extensive experience covering gun violence over four decades, starting with the Columbine shooting and witnessing various incidents unfold nationwide. The filmmaker voiced a growing frustration: even after significant tragedies, like the shooting in Newtown, it seemed that substantive legislative changes were nowhere to be found, despite a strong public demand for common-sense gun laws. This sense of urgency propelled them to create a documentary that addresses the disconnect between public opinion and governmental action on gun control.
