Part 2/8:
As the practice progresses, there is a keen emphasis on finding alignment—head over heart, and heart over pelvis. This alignment serves as the foundation for deeper breathing: inhaling calm and exhaling tension. Participants are guided to incorporate a range of movements from head rolls to shoulder shrugs, promoting relaxation and easing into the session.
Shaping the Poses
Following this initial phase of looseness and warm-up, the practice transitions into more structured poses like Tabletop Position and a flowing Cat-Cow sequence. The teacher encourages participants to listen to their bodies, allowing for improvisation within traditional postures. This highlights the philosophy of yoga as not merely a physical practice, but a means for self-discovery and empowerment.
