An often overlooked aspect of ownership is the realization that we must push ourselves and exercise self-discipline. Many individuals fall short of their potential because they fail to recognize the need for internal motivation. Understanding that we need to "parent ourselves" is vital; no one can do the rigorous work necessary to achieve our dreams better than we can.
Accepting that we must consistently give ourselves that push offers a sense of liberation. It allows us to break away from external dependencies and recognize that we are the authors of our narratives. By reinforcing our goals and aspirations through deliberate self-talk and action, we gradually steer ourselves towards success.
