When they reach home, Annie expresses her disappointment in Angus's lack of ambition, scolding him for not even attempting to swim. Despite her irritation, Angus remains silent. As he ventures into his father’s old workshop, his mind wanders to memories of his father, Charlie, who is away serving in the army. While washing the mysterious egg, Angus is awestruck to reveal a brilliant blue coloration beneath its outer shell. But, just as he prepares to break the shell and discover its contents, Annie’s call draws him back to reality, forcing him to leave the egg behind.
