Part 2/9:
The story transitions from Vasili's innocent childhood moments to the harsh realities of World War II in 1942. Fully grown and serving in the Russian army, Vasili found himself amongst comrades heading towards Stalingrad, a city crucial for both Russian and German forces amidst the turmoil of the war. As the Russian soldiers embarked on their journey via train, they were met with the grim reality of Hitler's forces, who had conquered much of Europe and were intent on invading Russia.
