Adopting the guise of a wealthy French noble, Edmond reintegrates himself into society to draw out Mondo and the conspirators who contributed to his downfall. His elaborate social gatherings attract the corrupted elite, including Mondo and the officials responsible for his suffering.
With meticulous precision, Edmond orchestrates events to confront those who betrayed him, taking revenge on those who wronged him systematically. He confronts Danglars, reveals his identity to Viler, and confronts not only Mondo but also exposes his past sins and misdeeds.
