Charlie begins to piece together the bizarre changes occurring around him. While his father now exhibits abnormal behavior, Charlie's attempts to communicate his fears to his mother fall on deaf ears. She dismisses his concerns as just the turbulence of their family situation. As the situation spirals out of control, it is revealed that the alien takeover differentiates itself by assuming the roles of familiar figures in Charlie’s life.
