Bravely stepping into the morning light, Sam discovers the city in ruins and sets about scavenging food and supplies. In a park, she encounters hungry children and shares her meager provisions. They are then swept up in an announcement about the aliens' weaknesses—an opportunity to escape.
Yet, Sam’s heart aches with longing. Now driven by her last wish to taste pizza one last time, she sends the children towards safety while she turns back into the wreckage of the city.
