The United Federation of Britain serves as a sanctuary for the wealthy and powerful who enjoy their luxurious lives, while the Australians, predominantly the working class and the impoverished, are subjected to a life of servitude under the tyrannical rule of British authorities, specifically a ruthless leader named Cohaagen. He ensures that the Australian colony is firmly under British control, which involves transporting workers to Britain via a colossal Earth Elevator traversing the planet's core.
Within this oppressive society, we meet Douglas, an Australian laborer, and his recurring nightmares of escape and heroism. These dreams serve as a lens through which Douglas perceives not only his frustrations but also the longing for a better life.
