When presented with options to dispose of Tang at a local electronics shop, Ken feels an impulse to abandon the robot, viewing it as a burden amidst his struggles. However, as he witnesses Tang’s sad expression, Ken’s conscience stirs. Leaving Tang behind does not sit right with him, and he finds himself returning home unaware that the robot, displaying an endearing persistence, is following him.
Upon arriving home, Ken is met with Emi’s frustration regarding his job search—or lack thereof. Their discourse escalates into a fight, heavily laced with Ken’s indifference to his responsibilities and Emi’s pent-up frustration. This confrontation reveals the depth of emotional disconnect as Tang quietly observes the chaos.
