Their relationship faces turbulence as Jiro’s insecurities grow, exacerbated by his struggles to connect with the cyborg's true self. Meanwhile, as the cyborg saves lives unbeknownst to Jiro, a tragic earthquake finally tests their bond. In an act of ultimate sacrifice, the cyborg puts herself in harm’s way to protect Jiro, enduring tremendous injuries in the process.
