As the infection spreads, paranoia mounts. Whit befriends Harris, a soldier riddled with doubts and accusations. Tensions rise, leading to lethal encounters fueled by fear and mistrust. Whit seeks refuge in a laboratory where he discovers alarming research on an alien species, the Ogi—a parasitic life form capable of taking complete control over its human host, transforming them into vessels for its destructive purposes.
The narrative takes a compelling turn as Whit encounters Rig, another soldier straddling the line between humanity and the Ogi's influence. Trust rapidly deteriorates within their ranks as the ominous back-and-forth reveals a stark truth—Whit, too, is infected, albeit less overtly than others.
