  1. Open Text to Columns: Navigate to the Data tab and click on Text to Columns.

  2. Choose Delimiters: In the wizard, users can choose between delimiter or fixed width. For data with commas, tick the delimited option, and proceed to specify the comma as the delimiter.

  3. Set Data Type: Users can designate the format for each resulting column—important for date formats to ensure they are recognized correctly in Excel.

  4. Finalize: Choose a destination for the split data so it does not overwrite existing information and click Finish.

The Text to Columns method is straightforward but comes with limitations. If the original data changes, the split data does not automatically update.
