The soul "has us"—it is the immutable, eternal aspect of consciousness that experiences growth through various physical and non-physical incarnations.
He visualizes consciousness as layered and overlapping, extending through multiple levels—from physical bodies to higher spiritual planes. At the lowest, we experience individuality and separation; at higher levels, distinctions fade, and we realize a state of universal interconnectedness.
