The game kicked off with a noticeable height advantage for Velo Clube, especially in their defense. During the first goal, it became clear that the responsibility fell heavily on the defenders at the near post. A slight deflection from that position sent the ball sailing toward the goal, catching the goalkeeper, Don, off-guard. Despite the opportunity to be better positioned, a quick turn of the head proved costly, leading to Velo Clube's first-ever goal against Corinthians in their competitive history, scored by Daniel Amor, a center forward who had previously played in Serie C for Londrina.
