Part 6/9:
The First Age of the Sun
This age, while named the First Age, was significantly shorter than its predecessor. The rise of Melkor—now known as Morgoth—as the prime antagonist led to widespread conflict, culminating in the War of Wrath. Morgoth was ultimately defeated, leading to the closing of the First Age and the rise of his lieutenant, Sauron.
The Second Age: Rise of Sauron
Sauron took up the mantle of the dark lord established by Morgoth, and the Second Age was characterized by his manipulation of power and stealthy endeavors to ensnare the free peoples of Middle-earth. This age lasted 3,441 years before coming to a climactic end as Sauron was defeated in the War of the Last Alliance.
