International and Domestic Opposition
Restoration faced significant hurdles. The Allied powers, particularly Britain, France, Czechoslovakia, Romania, and Yugoslavia, strongly opposed Karl’s return, fearing that it could destabilize the region further and ruin the fragile peace established after WWI.
