Hitler's ideological focus, as expressed in Mein Kampf and subsequent documents, was primarily directed eastward to seek land and resources—particularly soil and food—rather than oil. His doctrine emphasized Lebensraum in the East, predicated on the assumption that Germany’s future expansion would be in the direction of agrarian and living space for Germans.
In the context of this worldview, resource acquisition through direct conquest of the Soviet Union was seen as a more natural and sufficient strategy. There was little emphasis on a southern or western route through Turkey because Hitler believed that the Soviet Union's collapse was inevitable and imminent.
