Part 3/7:
Starting the Practice: Grounding and Centering
To begin, practitioners rub their palms together vigorously to warm up the energy before bringing their hands into a prayer position at the heart center. Taking deep, mindful breaths, they stretch tall through the spine and relax their shoulders away from the ears. This initial grounding invigorates the body, allowing it to accept the forthcoming energetic shifts.
With attention focused on the breath, the session begins with mantra chanting. The powerful sound vibrations provide a protective barrier, guiding individuals through the practice while keeping them connected to their innate selves. For those new to mantras, it is equally effective to simply listen and absorb.
