One of the first principles to consider is that your hip should never be at a right angle (90 degrees). When your hips are aligned this way, the curvature of your spine becomes compromised. As you attempt to straighten your back, you may inadvertently cause strain that can lead to back pain over time.
Adjusting Your Position
To achieve a more favorable posture, consider elevating your hips slightly. By adding support, such as a cushion or folded blanket, you can increase the angle of your hips.
For example, raising your hips by one inch can already begin to make a significant difference. As you incorporate these adjustments, you may notice that the angle between your thighs and torso becomes greater than 90 degrees, promoting a more relaxed and aligned spine.
