Throughout the kriya, practitioners are instructed to apply gentle pressure on the navel point during exhalations, a critical component of the breath of fire technique, which is employed repeatedly in various postures. After a dynamic series of movements that involve bending and holding poses, yogis find themselves in a strong uthkatasana or “chair pose,” focusing on breath and stability.
Further, side bends and stretches follow, held at a 90-degree angle, which help to open the body and enhance flexibility. In this phase, maintaining the connection with the breath remains vital as it synchronizes physical movements with energy flow.
