The first chakra, the Muladhara or Root Chakra, is located at the base of the spine. To activate this chakra, participants engage in body drops, focusing their attention on the perineum area. They are given options, whether to extend their legs or assume a cross-legged position, and instructed to drop their bodies onto the perineum. This powerful motion aims to stimulate the foundational energy of the body. After three minutes of this practice, participants hold the breath once more, squeezing mulabandha to consolidate the energy awakened in the Root Chakra.
