Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back down through the legs, is compressed or irritated. This often results in pain, numbness, or tingling sensations that can extend from the lower back through the pelvis and into the thighs and legs. Sciatica is particularly prevalent among those with chronic lower back pain, and yoga can provide a therapeutic approach to relieve the tension and discomfort associated with this condition.
