Techniques for Relief
Dr. Jared introduces three effective techniques to relieve sciatic nerve pain, adaptable to various situations: sitting, standing, and lying down. These techniques aim to "floss" or glide the nerve to provide relief. The following outlines each approach in detail:
Seated Technique
Initial Position: Sit comfortably in a firm chair with another chair in front. Extend the affected leg (for instance, the left leg) out in front, maintaining a straight posture with hips tall and chest up.
Hold the Position: If this stretch reproduces sciatic symptoms, hold the position for 5 to 60 seconds, then relax. Aim to repeat this 3 to 5 times.
