In 2016, the group attempted to steal $1 billion from the Bangladesh Bank, successfully transferring $81 million before detection. Most notably, in a 2017 ransomware attack known as WannaCry, they disrupted operations globally, targeting hospitals, businesses, and government agencies across numerous countries.
