Wolves typically mate in the bitter months of January and February. As spring arrives, a swift transformation occurs, with the arrival of wolf pups approximately two months after mating. Human hunters, eager to capture these vulnerable young creatures, often track them down at the dens. Experienced hunters spearhead this endeavor, leading the way to where the mother has hastily hidden her pups.
The pups, at around two weeks old, are oblivious and remain with their eyes shut. Their hiding places are not always secure; Mother Wolf, sensing danger from nearby humans, often relocates her young. However, sometimes the rush to move leads to leaving pups unprotected – a momentous opportunity for human hunters.
