The project, presented by Jay from the Plasma Channel, involved modifying a typical arc lighter—capable of generating around 5,000 volts in a small form factor. These lighters can be USB charged, are quite durable, and are capable of producing serious sparks. However, the intention was clear: to create a more powerful 50,000-volt arc lighter powered Tesla coil that could generate impressive arcs for a variety of applications.

The first step in the transformation was to disassemble the arc lighter to gain access to its internal components. Jay carefully removed the casing and took out the push-button switch, opting to run two wires outside. This modification allowed him to turn the lighter on and off without accessing the original switch.
