After selecting the area, go to the Edit menu and choose “Stroke Selection.” Here, you can choose the color for your border. Set the line style you prefer and adjust the thickness of the line, for instance, to three pixels to make the border more visible.
After applying the stroke, you'll notice a border around your text. If the thickness is not what you desire, you can always go back and readjust.
Color Filling the Background
Now it's time to fill the background with color. You can use the foreground or background colors of your choice. If you use an original fill, remember that the stroke will color in between the text lines if configured to do so. To create a design with distinct colors, adjust the fills appropriately to achieve the intended effect.
